Elegant Grandbury Backyard Wedding
I don’t generally devote an entire blog post to only the details of a wedding, but I couldn’t help it here. So many gorgeous details at this Grandbury Backyard Wedding. And of course, one of my favorite parts of a Texas backyard wedding…the BBQ! The brisket was delicious!!
When Rebecca reached out to me and started sharing some of the details for their wedding, I knew without a doubt, that I was going to enjoy the evening. Backyard weddings are a favorite of mine. Guests and couples alike seem to just be more relaxed and joyful. The evening often is less about the event and more about the people we’re celebrating in the less formal venue of a home.
Having a smaller more intimate wedding did not stop Rebecca from planning a gorgeously elegant celebration however. Her attention to detail was everywhere. Pulling into the small Grandbury neighborhood, you were greeted with bundles of large white balloons dancing in the wind. As I walked past the welcome table, I couldn’t help but love the Wooden Arbor with Captain’s Wheel gracing the lawn.
Creating a romantic nautical themed wedding
You might not expect a nautical theme in a small Texas town, but it was absolutely unique and gorgeous. Lush floral decor complemented the day with real roses being plucked for all of the flower girls baskets. And the kid’s were made to feel welcomed with their own boatload of fun activities.
I absolutely fell in love with the hanging vases holding pink roses over her cake table. Such a gorgeous cake from Sugar Bee Sweets! I love the current trend of “Naked Cakes” like this, I think it’s simply beautiful. This has to be the most gorgeous one I’ve seen yet. Surrounded by sugar confection flowers that were stunning in their detail.
The Groom’s Cake was gorgeous in it’s own manly way and had it’s own themed table. So often the Groom’s Cake is set off to the side and looks a little out of place on the soft romantic cake tables. Not here! With the nautical theme blending into the Texas sport scene, Dustin’s cake held it’s own. This meant that there were 2 opportunities to smash cake face, but that’s for post number 2 coming later this week.
They topped the night off with a fun dance floor, sparklers and lawn games. What a fun night! I felt like I came as a guest and left as a friend!
