Personalize Your Wedding Registry
One of the most fun to-do’s on your wedding planning list is filling out your registry.
Does the thought bring visions of new fluffy towels, cookware and serving dishes dance through your head? What if your registry was filled up with unique items that enhanced your life and created a true beginning for your new family?
What if your registry spoke of your style to your guests and offered them a little insight into the new identity you 2 are creating as a couple? Maybe it’s funny socks, or personalized dog leashes, or a new piece of art.
I’m a big believer in supporting small business whenever possible, and even more so when planning an event. What better way to ensure you get a totally unique, exactly you, list of amazing, make your life better items?

Register for a Personalized Watercolor Wedding Portrait
To get us started with this idea, I have the lovely Mckinsey Watteyne of Kinsey Jane Creates here today answering a few questions about her personal watercolor portraits for your wedding.
How long have you been painting?
I began painting December 2015, because I had gotten some watercolor paints for Christmas. However, I have always been creative and took a lot of art classes throughout my childhood and even now (I’m 20). I just loved that watercolor was so versatile and didn’t have to be perfect.
Where did you learn to paint?
Like I said, I took many different art classes growing up. With watercolor though, I am self taught. I watched a lot of YouTube videos and look to Instagram for inspiration.
What was your inspiration to offer customized wedding portraits?
I was recently married and I wanted something that I could use in my own home that I created. I’ve seen different versions of custom wedding portraits all over Pinterest. It’s just the perfect little touch to a home, it’s a photograph but more artistic.
What is your favorite keepsake from your own wedding?
It’s silly, but I have this thing where I think a lot of things are cute. My husband thought it was funny, so he bought me a butter dish as a wedding gift. He told me that he wants to have an outlook on life that is simple, so when I see that butter dish it reminds me of the simple things in life.
One thing you would change about your wedding?
My wedding was so beautiful, my family helped a lot. I’ve talked to my husband about this though, and we wish we could go back and enjoy it more and have a dance party rather than just standing in a line and greeting people.
What is the most common question your clients ask you?
My clients usually ask me how they can customize their portrait and to make it more suitable for them. My goal is to create something that the customer loves and suits their needs while representing my brand.
How long does it take you to create a custom work of art?
From the time that I discuss details with the client and the painting time, it takes between 5-7 days to process it and get it shipped out. The painting process only takes me about 2.5 hours depending on size and detail.
Is there any planning advice you would like to share?
Have fun with it. Enjoy this time and don’t stress over the details. Just enjoy the moment.
Kinsey Jane Creates is a custom watercolor etsy shop that also deals with calligraphy. Kinsey Jane started her watercolor brand in January 2017. Her goal is to create art that represents her brand while fitting the customer’s needs.
